Phil had an active publishing career. With seven published titles of Travels With Farley and Farley strips along with guide books written by Susan Frank, his wife, and illustrated by Phil. His historical interests led Phil to single-handedly research both the written words and photos for the Images of America title, Bolinas and Stinson Beach and in November of 2008 Arcadia Press published his second historical title, Houseboats of Sausalito.  In October of 2008 a compilation of The Elderberries strips which Phil drew and Joe Troise wrote became available.
